Oklahoma City Thunder forward Andre Roberson has missed all of the 2018-19 season due to a knee injury. And though he's back to running in practice sessions, he has yet to do any on-court work. As a precautionary measure, the team has officially decided to sideline him for the remainder of this season.

Roberson suffered a setback in his recovery back in November. He took an awkward landing after jumping during a workout with the team. MRI scans that were taken later revealed a small avulsion fracture in his left knee. At that time, he was slated for re-evaluation in six weeks. Now, however, he'll be supporting his Thunder teammates from the sidelines as they push into the playoffs.

It's a shame that Roberson wasn't able to play this season, as he could have helped his team in a variety of ways. At 6-foot-7, he has good size and can defend multiple positions.

Thunder head coach Billy Donovan told reporters that there has been no indication from the team's medical staff that Roberson is “anywhere near” a return to game action.

In 295 games played over the course of his career, Roberson has racked up averages of 4.6 points on 48.2 percent shooting from the field (25.7 percent from beyond the arc), 4.0 rebounds and just under one assists (0.9) in 22.5 minutes per outing.

The Thunder will be back in action on Friday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the Detroit Pistons. Tip-off inside Chesapeake Energy Arena is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
