It's still the offseason but Dennis Schroder has already won a trophy. He clinched the 3-on-3 tournament with “Der Stamm Flex” from Aachen on Saturday night at the Spielbudenplatz in Hamburg.

Not surprisingly, Schroder admits he likes playing the 3-on-3 format as he also won the tournament in 2016. Waxing nostalgic, Dennis added that he grew up playing the 3-on-3. Also, it's a chance for him to try out some new moves. As reported by Welt and translated by Hoopshype, Dennis says he is all in for playing for the national flag.

I still like to play during the summer, because here you can try out new moves that you would not do in the arena. I would like to be here again for the next German championship.

The new Oklahoma City Thunder guard will most likely play as back up to superstar Russell Westbrook but may also play the wing position should the team decide to play small ball. Last year, he averaged 19.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 6.2 assists playing for the Atlanta Hawks.

The German international spent all his years in Atlanta before getting shipped to the Thunder this summer. It looks like the Hawks is putting the key to their franchise in the hands of rookie Trae Young.

In his five years in the NBA, Schroder has not played in a complete season yet. Injuries have played a hand in his slow rise to stardom. If Dennis Schroder could finally stay healthy all season long, he could be a pivotal addition to the Thunder roster, most especially in their postseason push.
