Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant recently revealed on the All The Smoke podcast his reasoning for leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder in the summer of 2016. According to Durant, he needed a change of scenery and grew tired of being the only Thunder player capable of knocking down jump shots and three-pointers consistently.

This didn't seem to sit well with Durant's former teammate Enes Kanter. The Boston Celtics center just straight up laughed at KD's statement on Twitter:

To recall, Durant bolted OKC for the Golden State Warriors in 2016. This came after Durant and the Thunder blew a 3-1 lead against Golden State in the Western Conference Finals just a couple of months prior.

Looking back at Oklahoma City's roster in 2016, Durant didn't really make any lies. Indeed, he was the only real consistent perimeter threat for the Thunder.

Three-point shooting was never Russell Westbrook's strength. Serge Ibaka also had the three-pointer in his arsenal, but at the time, he was nowhere near the shooter he is with the Toronto Raptors right now.

They also did have Dion Waiters in 2016. But he is a volume shooter with suspect percentages at best. And as for Kanter, he never really developed as a floor spacer himself.

The game had already been gearing towards the three-point revolution at the time. Unfortunately for the Thunder, KD didn't think they were doing the necessary roster moves to adapt to where basketball was headed in those transition years.

As of now, Kevin Durant has yet to respond to Kanter's banter. But knowing the two-time Finals MVP, one might just be on the way soon.
