The reigning league MVP Russell Westbrook has continued to put up monster all-around numbers this season despite the arrival of both All-Star forwards Paul George and Carmelo Anthony.

According to Justin Kubatko of Stat Muse, Westbrook has paced himself to post a streak of double-doubles that has put him in the same company with Hall of Famer Michael Jordan.

This has further made it clear that Westbrook is still playing at another level individually with his stellar all-around play. He has been able to accomplish just that while remaining a high volume scorer pushing his averages to 25.0 points, 10.0 assists, and 9.6 rebounds per contest in 42 games played so far this season. This includes notching 30 total double-doubles with a league-high 14 triple-doubles.

Westbrook is also coming off an impressive month of December where he earned the Western Conference Player of the Month for the eighth time in his career after averaging a triple-double of 27.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 10.6 assists while leading his team to 12-5 mark over that stretch. Granted, he has been able to do much of this as the top scoring option and ball handler for the Thunder. However, it does show his ability to impact the game in a multitude of ways.

At the same time, this has often come to detriment of his team's overall performance due to him looking to take control of the game. This has left both George and Anthony struggling to find their footing in the offense.

Westbrook's high rate of production has demonstrated that he's one of the league's elite talents and should be in the mix for the MVP award once again. However, the true value of his impact will be put to the test during the playoffs to see if his play can lead his team to contend for an NBA title. The pairing alongside George and Anthony could be what provides the Thunder the offensive boost to get over the hump in the postseason.

Oklahoma City has yet to truly find their groove offensive headed by their three All-Stars, but there is still plenty of time left in the season for them to figure it out well ahead of the playoffs.
