The Minnesota Timberwolves may have picked up an impressive victory against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night, but they still seek to improve their frontcourt, as revealed by ESPN’s Brian Windhorst during his appearance on The Truehoop Podcast with Rachel Nichols this week:

“The word on the street, is that the Wolves are starting to call around and are looking for frontcourt help,” Windhorst said. “They signed Jordan Hill in the offseason, he doesn’t play, (Cole) Aldrich has not played that much and Nemanja Bjelica has been banged up.”

“So, Minnesota are trying to crawl off the mat, looking to trade for a frontcourt player, so how about that for a little rumor?”

With franchise centerpiece Karl-Anthony Towns still performing at a high level down in the middle, it seems as though the organization are trying to provide help for the 21-year-old.

If the Timberwolves were to make a trade, it would be safe to assume Towns, Andrew Wiggins, and Zach LaVine would not be available. This would leave them with trade pieces such as flashy Spanish guard Ricky Rubio, as well as Shabazz Muhammad and Aldrich.

As trade talks begin to heat up heading into 2017, Minnesota is definitely a team for fans to keep their eyes on.
