The Minnesota Timberwolves have downgraded starting small forward Andrew Wiggins as questionable to face the Washington Wizards on Saturday at home.

Wiggins was listed as probable earlier in the day. The swingman is dealing with a left quad contusion.

In 59 games this season for the Timberwolves, Andrew Wiggins is averaging 17.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists. The former No. 1 overall pick is shooting 40.0 percent from the field, 33.5 percent from beyond the arc and 70.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Wiggins has been under a lot of scrutiny this season from the fans in Minnesota. He's gotten booed at home this season and has failed to improve his game from last year.

The 24-year-old signed a lucrative contract in the summer of 2017. Wiggins is making a whopping $25,467,25 this season. His big contract, coupled with his lack of production on the floor, is the main reason why Timberwolves fans have soured on Andrew Wiggins.

Minnesota enters Saturday with a record of 30-35, good for 10th place in the Western Conference standings. The Timberwolves are still mathematically in the playoff race, but it's very doubtful they will make it. Minnesota trails the San Antonio Spurs by 6.5 games for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West.
