Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor still has faith in president/head coach Tom Thibodeau despite his decision to trade some of the franchise's best assets for Jimmy Butler in the summer of 2017. Taylor is believed to be closely monitoring Thibodeau throughout this season to decide his impending future with the team, but gave him a vote of confidence because he “can’t believe he ever thought any of these things would happen.”

“Because he’s a guy that spoke for Jimmy and did all that type of stuff, I know that he is really hurt that this thing happened,” Taylor said of Thibodeau, according to Jace Frederick of The Pioneer Press.

Taylor is still confident in Thibodeau's many years of NBA experience as a coach, hopeful that the Timberwolves will now have what it takes to “get through this thing.”

“Jimmy has made it more difficult for the coach to do so,” Thibodeau said, “but I’m relying on his experience that he will come back and get us off to a better track record than we had these first games and be competitive this season.”

The Timberwolves now boast another 3-and-D talent in Robert Covington, alongside a promising stretch 4 in Dario Saric and a capable veteran backcourt backup in Jerryd Bayless.

If two of their three returning pieces work out for the team, it would be an encouraging sign for Thibodeau's future with the team, even potentially resulting in a permanent vote of confidence from Taylor after deciding for the right package in return from Butler.
