Jimmy Butler had a falling out with the Minnesota Timberwolves before he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. While Butler reportedly had a tumultuous relationship with their front office and some players, the superstar guard remains close with some of his former teammates. According to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, Timberwolves guard Jeff Teague and Butler are still in good terms. In fact, Teague is still sending messages to Butler comfortably, even random messages like “fuck you” from time to time.

Butler made headlines in the offseason when he openly mocked teammates and coaches in a heated practice. Anthony Tolliver had some words for Butler before, but the veteran forward has reportedly moved on. Butler still has other friends in the organization, including his former Bulls teammates Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, and Luol Deng.

Butler appeared in just 10 games for Minnesota earlier in the season. He posted 21.3 points to go along with 5.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. In 53 games for the 76ers, the 29-year-old posted 18.5 points on top of 5.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists, which are very decent, considering that he is playing with other superstars in Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and Tobias Harris.

Butler faced his former team on Saturday and had the last laugh despite having a poor shooting night, as the 76ers ran away with a 118-109 road win. Butler finished with 12 points on a measly 4-for-17 shooting, but he added 13 rebounds, five assists, and two steals for Philadelphia.

Butler is also heading to a more desirable situation. The Timberwolves failed to make the playoffs, while Butler is headed to the postseason, where they are expected to be one of the favorites to win the Eastern Conference title.
