The lights got a little bit too bright for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Karl-Anthony Towns on Friday's 106-123 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Timberwolves have now lost five straight games—dropping matches against the Cavaliers, Utah Jazz, Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, and the Washington Wizards. Prior to this losing skid, the boys from Minnesota enjoyed five straight wins against the Miami Heat, New Orleans Pelicans, Memphis Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs, and Sacramento Kings.

After Towns and his squad lost to the Cavaliers, the Timberwolves star had some words to say regarding his team's recent losing skid:

Via Jon Krawczynski's Twitter:

“We got a little winning streak, we got a little, I won’t even say respect in the league. We got a little pub, a little buzz. We got too comfortable. We’re not putting the work in. It’s as simple as that.”

Towns was obviously alluding to the Timberwolves getting a little bit too relaxed coming out of their five-game win streak. While the team did beat some good teams on that run (the Miami Heat and the Memphis Grizzlies come to mind), and the recent string of games has been against top-notch teams in the league (the Nets, Jazz, and Wizards), there are apparently no excuses for the losing streak.

However, it's important to note that Towns still views his team as a team that still has not earned the respect of the league. Obviously, if the Timberwolves do want to get some respect put on the team name, then Towns is of the mind that they should first start winning games more consistently.
