Minnesota Timberwolves forward Andrew Wiggins is now sporting an afro, but ex-NBA player Kendrick Perkins does not approve of it.

On Twitter, Perkins asked Wiggins to cut his hair and noted that his afro is “not it.”

Perkins was replying to NBA on ESPN's tweet of the alter-ego of some of the best players in the league. For Wiggins, his afro look could be his top form. However, Perkins does not believe so.

Wiggins has not exactly played up to expectations. Before being selected as the first overall pick in 2014, Wiggins was already being compared to the likes of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. Some say that he has the potential to be that type of player.

After winning Rookie of the Year, his second and third seasons showed great promise. His third season was his best yet after averaging 23.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steal across 37.2 minutes in 82 games. He also shot 45.2 percent from the field.

Nonetheless, in the past two seasons, his averages dwindled. While some believed that the addition of Jimmy Butler may have hampered Wiggins' rise, the 24-year-old didn't do much after Butler was traded to raise hopes up.

Wiggins will have another shot in 2019-20, but it might be his last chance to show the Timberwolves that he should be part of their future.
