The Minnesota Timberwolves Bucks are adding more muscle to their frontcourt. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Timberwolves are going to sign veteran big man Greg Monroe until the end of the 2021-22 NBA season.

Center Greg Monroe will sign a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the remainder of the season, sources tell  @TheAthletic @Stadium. Monroe had productive stints in Minnesota, Washington, Utah and Milwaukee this season, completing a 10-day with the Jazz on Wednesday.

The Bucks’ frontline is pretty thin at the moment. Sure, they have Karl-Anthony Towns, but behind him are names like Naz Reid, Nathan Knight, and Jarred Vanderbilt. Monroe’s best days in the NBA are clearly behind him, but as Charania mentioned, he has been relatively productive in 10-day stints this season with the Timberwolves, Washington Wizards, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Utah Jazz

Monroe signed a 10-day deal with the Timberwolves last December and in three appearances with the team, he managed per 36 numbers of 11.4 points, 6.3 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 2.3 blocks. He will provide the Timberwolves extra beef in the middle and help the team in rebounding. Minnesota is just 15th in the NBA with 52.4 rebounds per contest.

The 31-year-old 6-11 center will now look forward to helping the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Play-in tournament – though there is still a very slim shot that they make the playoff proper picture.
