Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose is off to a stellar start to the year, and the folks over at NBA 2K are paying attention.

Entering Friday, Derrick Rose was averaging 19.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 45.7 percent from the field, 48.8 percent from beyond the arc and 82.7 percent from the free-throw line. Minnesota is a plus-3.3 when Derrick Rose is on the floor and a minus-17.0 when he’s not, per NBA.com.

Rose, the youngest MVP in NBA history, scored a career-high 50 points against the Utah Jazz as well. As a result, his NBA 2K rating has gone up by five points.

Derrick Rose continued his hot start to the season with a good game on Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers. The 30-year-old Chicago native finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the Timberwolves' win over the Trail Blazers.

Minnesota is now 3-0 since trading Jimmy Butler to the Philadelphia 76ers. Rose's role on offense figures to increase now that Butler is gone. There's a strong possibility D-Rose's 2K rating can go up even more as the season moves along.

The Timberwolves are now 7-9 on the season. Things are looking much better for the franchise now that the Butler trade drama is over and done with.
