The Minnesota Timberwolves released a pair of injury updates ahead of Tuesday night's match-up against the Clippers. Among the players on Minnesota's report are Taj Gibson, who is listed as doubtful with a calf ailment, and Luol Deng, who will remain out due to a sore Achilles.

According to Dane Moore of ESPN1500, Deng has not suffered any setbacks in his recovery process, though he has missed the last 12 games due to the injury. However, there are some who believe he could be done for the season.

Gibson suffered his injury during last Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors and has missed each of the last two games. If he is unable to play against the Clippers, Gorgui Dieng and Keita Bates-Diop will likely see upticks in their usage rates. An official ruling on Gibson's status should be released shortly before tip.

In 70 appearances with the Timberwolves this season (57 starts), Gibson has racked up averages of 10.8 points on 56.6 percent shooting from the field (32.4 percent from beyond the arc), 6.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and just under one steal (0.8) in 24.1 minutes per outing.

Minnesota (33-40 and 5th in the Northwest Division standings) will need to keep their “next man up” mentality alive, as they have several players who have been ruled out for the remainder of this campaign, including Derrick Rose (elbow), Jeff Teague (foot) and Robert Covington (knee).

Tuesday night's Timberwolves-Clippers game is scheduled to tip inside the Target Center at 8:00 p.m. ET.
