The trade market is in full swing as the NBA nears the Feb. 7 deadline. One player, who has already switched teams once this season, could be on the move yet again.

According to Sean Deveney of Sportingnews, Dario Saric could be available for teams interested in him for the right deal, though that price tag looks to be a first round pick and a player in return.

Saric could find himself on the trade block by Thursday. The Wolves likely would prefer to wait until the offseason to make a trade involving what was supposed to be the most valuable piece they got in return for Butler, but according to one league executive, “He could be had for a decent offer, a first-rounder and a player.”

After being dealt to the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of the package that landed the Philadelphia 76ers Jimmy Butler early in the season, Dario Saric never quite found a consistent role within the rotation. The floor stretching big man was a full-time starter in Philly, but in his 38 games playing for the Timberwolves, he has only started once.

As Deveney pointed out, the coaching change for Minnesota midseason hasn’t helped either. With Ryan Saunders taking over, Saric has seen a reduced role and production, with the team offering up more minutes at power forward to the veteran Taj Gibson.

However, the other big piece in the deal, Robert Covington, has slid into the starting lineup comfortability since being traded. Starting in all 22 of the games he has played with the Timberwolves, he has carved out a nice role for himself and has been one of the most impactful wing defenders in the league.

There is a good chance that the Timberwolves wait to find a suitor for Saric in the offseason, where they could likely get more attractive offers in return for the last year on his rookie contract. A big who can both rebound and shoot from deep at decent levels is always of value in the league though, and Minnesota could be in line to field at least a few offers.
