The Minnesota Timberwolves lucked out on Thursday night, as they won the top prize in the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery. It was a great moment for the franchise, and it prompted an equally epic reaction from Timberwolves Nation.

The Timberwolves' official Twitter account shared a video clip of their front office's celebration at the exact moment their name was called out as the winner of the first overall pick:

Minnesota had a 14.0% chance of winning the No. 1 pick. The Timberwolves had the exact same odds as the Golden State Warriors, who ended up with the second pick, as well as the Cleveland Cavaliers, who themselves fell to fifth.

This is only the second time in franchise history that the Timberwolves have won the first overall pick. The first time was back in 2015, which they used on cornerstone superstar Karl-Anthony Towns.

Minnesota now has myriad options with the No. 1 pick, one of which would be to actually use the pick to select the consensus first overall pick in Anthony Edwards. The 19-year-old shooting guard could prove to be a great fit with the team, forming a very promising backcourt partnership with D'Angelo Russell.

On the other hand, the Timberwolves could also use the top pick as part of a blockbuster trade offer to a team that might be in the market for Edwards. Perhaps Minnesota could strike a deal with the Phoenix Suns in order to unite Devin Booker with his best buddies in Russell and Towns. What a trifecta that would be, though at this point it's hard to see the Suns going along with this after their incredible run in the bubble.

Whatever the Timberwolves decide, they are in an undeniably envious position at the moment. Based on their reaction above, it is clear that the front office is well aware.
