Adrian Peterson is now on par to make his debut with the Tennessee Titans in their upcoming Week 9 road matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

Peterson was signed to the Titans' active roster on Friday. He agreed to join their practice squad earlier in the week after running back Derrick Henry was placed on injured reserve due to a foot injury.

It is currently not known on just how involved Peterson will be in the Titans' offensive attack against the Rams, but at the least, he is slated to make an appearance in the game.

Peterson could also go on to reach a notable milestone in this contest.

As it stands, Peterson sits at 124 total touchdowns recorded in his career, which ranks at 12th in NFL history. He has totaled for 118 rushing touchdowns and six receiving touchdowns over 180 career games played.

The one-time NFL MVP winner currently needs one more total touchdown to move into a tie with longtime Chicago Bears running back Walter Payton for 11th in this leaderboard. The Hall of Fame running back capped off his career in Chicago with 110 rushing touchdowns and 15 receiving touchdowns.

In the big picture, Peterson is eight total touchdowns away from slotting into eighth on this all-time leaderboard, which would see him pass the likes of Payton, Jim Brown, Marvin Harrison and Cris Carter.

Peterson's prime days may be far behind him, but he sure is well capable of recording eight total touchdowns over the remainder of this campaign.

The Titans will look to move to 7-2 with a possible statement road win over the Rams in Week 9.
