Amid the surge of trade rumors surrounding star wide receivers still under their rookie contracts, Tennessee Titans' A.J. Brown's name has come up as a player potentially on the move. Tennessee is expected to offer Brown a huge contract or risk losing him to another team willing to sign him to a big deal. GM Jon Robinson provided an update on the negotiations with Brown on Thursday, indicating that talks between the two sides had been initiated, but refused to offer much more insight into the situation, via John Glennon.

Robinson revealed that the Titans have held discussions with Brown's representatives and that they're working through the negotiations. He stated firmly that the Titans want Brown to be part of their future, though wouldn't elaborate on where in the contract process the two sides were.

This certainly bodes well for the Titans' hopes of keeping Brown in Tennessee, especially amid the frequent noise surrounding a possible trade for the 24-year-old. Brown is still playing under his rookie contract. In 2022, he is due to make just under $4 million before hitting unrestricted free agency in 2023. Considering the nature of the wide receiver market, Brown is due for a massive pay raise, and it seems he's on the path towards getting just that.

Brown battled through injury last year and while his numbers were down, he is a crucial cog on the offense. In 2021, Brown featured in 13 games, hauling in 63 receptions, 869 yards, and 5 touchdown receptions. Since entering the league as a second-round draft pick out of Ole Miss, Brown has caught 185 passes in three seasons for 24 touchdowns and 2,995 yards.
