After working back from a torn meniscus this NFL offseason, Tennessee Titans wide receiver Rishard Matthews could see his snaps limited early on this season. Matthews spent a lot of the offseason the PUP list but was activated last month and has been a full participant in practice. Matthews says he is now healthy and is ready to help the team any way he can.

“That is the kind of the plan, so wherever they need me,” Matthews said via Titans Online. “The young guys have been doing good, so wherever they need me to contribute, I am ready to go in there and do what I have to do.”

The Titans will go up against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, the place where Matthews spent his first four seasons, and he is excited to get a chance to go against his former team. Matthews has spent extra time watching film on the Dolphins and has been impressed with their defense.

“I have definitely been watching, and they have a good defense,” he said. “We are going to have to go out there and compete, and make plays, and go out there and do what we have to do to keep the defense off the field for as long as possible and get the ball in the end zone.”

The Titans have a lot of playmakers surrounding Marcus Mariota, and there is a quiet confidence around the team that this could be a special season. The Titans and Dolphins kick off at 1 PM ET on Sunday.
