Creative has done it again. The Total War Warhammer III Review Scores speak volumes on just how epic their latest game is. Currently sitting at 40 reviews, the game has a respectable review score. Let's get into it then and allow the game's epicness to take center stage.

What is Total War Warhammer III?

Total War is a grand strategy game that has both the strategic, turn-based nation-management empire-building game as well as the tactical, real-time strategy army management game rolled into one. The series has been around for about two decades now, and it has spawned a whole lot of critically acclaimed games that age very elegantly. See Total War Shogun II, which came out in 2011, and still sees more than two thousand players opening the game daily.

Warhammer is a tabletop game. Ask your friend who plays D&D for a detailed explanation. Basically, it's a war game that's played with dice, figurines, tables, and a ton of paper. It has a very expansive universe, full of colorful characters, factions, and fantasy races.

Total War Warhammer III is the third game in the Total War – Warhammer crossover series of games. The first two games received enormous reception from critics, and we don't see any reason why the third game won't it's basically the same game at its core, anyway, just with new units, new factions, and a very large campaign map. It's just epic in all of its proportions. Total War Warhammer III releases on February 17, 2022, exclusively on PC.

Total War Warhammer III Review Scores: 88 Metascore on Metacritic

Total War Warhammer III review scores currently stand at 88, voted on by 40 different critics.

Total War Warhammer III expands upon the foundations laid upon by Total War Warhammer. Its campaign map is four times as big as the first one. If you owned both the first and second games, it unlocks an ultra-massive campaign map for Total War Warhammer III that combines the campaign maps of all three games.

This game is the perfect end to an epic trilogy of grand strategy games. It was clear that Creative Assembly has had a plan for the entire series right from the get-go. They only had to lay out their plans and follow them throughout the years, following through with their promises to fans and staying true to the trajectory that eventually landed them to excellence.

The Guadian gave the game a perfect score, saying in its review that “The continual design evolution of one project split over three full games and dozens of expansions makes me hesitant to call Warhammer III a landmark strategy game in its own right. But looking back now at that very first trailer, it does feel like a promise kept.”

Wccftech gave the game a 9.5/10 score, saying in its review that “As the culmination of the Total War: Warhammer trilogy, the story-focused approach combined with massive multiple-part battles feels like the right thing to do. While aspects can make you feel rushed, this is undeniably intentional as you're in a race against all other factions on the map, and the more I play it, the more I like it. The battles feel genuinely epic, with even regular ones seeing significant improvement thanks to excellent design. AI improvements on the campaign map, combined with the unique features of factions, also add another layer to the game. There are a few niggles here and there; the AI has issues during battles. Corruption on the campaign map also feels imbalanced, but while these can be irritating (corruption mainly), they are minor issues in the grand scheme. All in all, Total War: Warhammer III is an excellent game.”

The game has a spotless track record, and the third title in the trilogy caps off years of excellence with yet another positive-only-review-score streak on Metacritic. The lowest score the game received was a 7.5/10 score from Cultured Vultures, saying in its review that: “Altogether, Total War: Warhammer 3 is a solid, albeit safe conclusion to the Total War: Warhammer trilogy that improves on the series’ biggest concerns. From a narrative standpoint, Warhammer 3 definitely feels tighter and more engaging than any in the trilogy, with decent replayability that will pit factions against each other as they vie for the power of a god. However, Warhammer 3 also shows deep-rooted issues related to its engine and design choices, which does raise questions about how Total War truly innovates in the future. As it currently stands though, Total War: Warhammer 3 is a solid fantasy strategy game, especially for any fan of the setting and those interested in competitive multiplayer.”
