UCLA was at the center of the biggest NCAA scandal this offseason following the arrests of three of their players for shoplifting. Needless to say, the tumultuous series of events that ensued accumulated to the point where even the President of the United States had to get involved.

As a result, all three players had been suspended indefinitely for their crimes. Among the most notable names was that of freshman LiAngelo Ball, who dropped out of school soon thereafter. According to Rob Dauster of NBC Sports, the freshmen Jalen Hill and Cody Riley have now been suspended for the rest of the season:

LaVar Ball had taken plenty of flak for pulling his son out of school to play professionally overseas in Lithuania alongside his younger brother, LaMelo. However, it seems they may have made the right decision with the Bruins having now suspended Hill and Riley for the entire year.

The Ball's were adamant since the “Lonzo” era that the brothers were essentially locks to be one-and-done's in college. That said, it would have only been a matter of time before LiAngelo was set to make his departure.

The Big Baller Brand has since announced the starting of the Junior Basketball Association, which will serve as an alternative to the NCAA for the top high school prospects in the nation to get paid to play. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see if Hill and Riley are among those to take that bold step into the JBA.
