UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Błachowicz will be defending his belt this Saturday in the main event of UFC 267 against challenger Glover Teixeira in Dubai. The fight could end up as the event's most brutal match, which would completely betray the friendliness shown by each fighter leading up to the bout.

Błachowicz even went as far as to pay Teixeira a visit just before the day of the fight to hand the latter a special birthday gift. See, the Brazilian striker had just celebrated his 42nd birthday ahead of UFC 267 and the champ thought that a little show of sportsmanship would do no harm.

Of course, the cordiality ends there. Once it's time to climb the Octagon, the gloves are going to be off, so to speak.

Błachowicz returns to action at UFC 267 months after becoming the first man to defeat Israel Adesanya in a pro-MMA fight.  That was the Polish's first time defending the belt we won when he beat Dominick Reyes for the title back in September 2020. Błachowicz is on a five-fight win streak, but Teixeira also has the same unbeaten run. The last time he saw action, Teixeria scored a submission win against Thiago Santos in November 2020.

Teixeira is no stranger to a title fight, having fought Jon Jones in a championship bout way back in 2014.  He lost that one via unanimous decision, and given his age, his date with Błachowicz at UFC 267 could likely be his last shot at a title.

For Teixeira, beating Błachowicz at UFC 267 will surely be a reason to drink.
