UFC champ-champ Amanda Nunes has admitted that Julianna Pena is somewhat similar to her past opponent Miesha Tate.

Ahead of her next title defense against Julianna Pena, reigning UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes has thoroughly assessed her upcoming opponent at UFC 269.

According to “Lioness,” she has been well aware of what Pena can do inside the cage. In fact, her team have figured that “The Venezuelan Vixen” has the same fighting style as former UFC bantamweight champ Miesha Tate. Thus, Nunes decided to inject “a little bit” of her training routines during her camp against Tate to Pena's at present.

“Julianna is an opponent I’ve known ever since the TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) days, which she won. I really know her style. She’s really close with Miesha Tate and they have the same style of fighting, but I think Julianna is even more of a grinder. We used a little bit of my camp for Tate for this Julianna fight, but with a bit more precision,” Nunes evaluated via MMA News.

Despite being confident that she already has an idea of how Pena will come forward, Nunes is still keeping her “feet on the ground” as she respects how hungry her opponent could be.

“I’m really looking forward to it, but at the same time I’m keeping my feet on the ground. I know everyone who walks into that cage will do their best to win. She has nothing to lose. I’m the champion and she’s going to come at me to take my belt. I just need to be really sharp so I can finish the fight at the right moment.”

With a win over Pena, Nunes, the UFC's lone women's two-division champ, will extend her remarkable winning streak to 13 in a row.
