UFC superstar Conor McGregor has agreed to fight fellow veteran Michael Chandler on social media.

Despite being out of action since July, former two-division UFC champ Conor McGregor is still considered as one of most coveted fighters in the famed MMA promotion. In fact, he had just been called out by UFC lightweight contender Michael Chandler for a showdown next year.

Chandler, who had just lost to Justin Gaethje in a three-round dog fight at UFC 268, creatively expressed his desire to take on McGregor on Twitter.

The 35-year-old posted a photoshopped image of him and McGregor engaging in an intense face-off with the caption, “2022.” As expected, “The Notorious” swiftly responded and said that he's “down” to fight Chandler “for sure.”

“I’m down at some stage for sure. Great fight the other night Mike, congrats!,” McGregor replied.

Indeed, McGregor vs. Chandler would make sense given both of them are already in their 30s. Atop that, both are also hungry for win, having suffered two consecutive defeats in the UFC.

McGregor has been sidelined since breaking his leg at UFC 264. However, the horrifying injury did not stop the 33-year-old from hitting the gym.

While in recovery, McGregor decided to bulk up and began lifting weights. His efforts were not put to wasted as he now appears to have developed an evidently broader and stockier physique.

“There are pro’s and cons to everything,” McGregor said via Talksport. “I could not move the last three months, so I brought heavy weights to me, and moved them. Repetitively.”

“Play with the cards you are dealt. My power is up over 50 per cent.”
