TJ Dillashaw is looking to make his big UFC return and it looks like it could be for the bantamweight title. Things have been tough for the former champion after missing time due to a USADA suspension and many injuries.
Before his suspension, TJ Dillashaw made an ill-advised drop down to flyweight. He wanted to challenge Henry Cejudo for the UFC flyweight title and it didn't pay off in the slightest.
TJ Dillashaw was knocked out in a matter of seconds and tested positive for EPO a few weeks after the fight. Looking back, he admits there was nothing good about dropping down to flyweight to challenge for the UFC title.

I was below 4 percent body fat. I see pictures of myself. I thought I looked good at the time. I see pictures of myself, now (I think) I looked like a crackhead. It was disgusting.”
When asked directly if he regretted the move to flyweight, TJ Dillashaw couldn't help but admit it was a mistake. The chance to become the UFC flyweight champion was tempting but it also led to him taking EPO and getting banned for two years.
“I do and I don’t. I know it was a lot of work,” former UFC bantamweight champion Dillashaw said. “I definitely regret it, because I wouldn’t have been sitting out for two years.”
