Calvin Kattar and Giga Chikadze are currently in the process of getting their next fight finalized. The two are set to meet in the main event slot on January 15, 2022.

The news was first reported by MMAJunkie. Currently, Calvin Kattar has signed his deal for the fight whilst the UFC is waiting for Giga Chikadze to sign his bout agreement.

The matchup has two very exciting strikers meeting in what is set to be a barnburner of a matchup. The winner would get one step closer to a title shot while many are saying the Georgian could get a title shot directly off of a win.

Calvin Kattar is currently coming off of a loss to Max Holloway back in January when the UFC was showcased on ABC. The bout saw Holloway win in dominant fashion but Cattar proved just how tough he was physically and mentally.

Before that, Calvin Kattar had defeated Jeremy Stephens by knockout and Dan Ige by dominant decision. The wins had put him in a good spot to eventually fight for the title.

Giga Chikadze has been on a dominant run himself after going 7-0 since signing with the UFC. He has been undefeated and is beating the best in the division.

Giga Chikadze is coming off of two notable knockout wins with victories over Edson Barboza and Cub Swanson. The two knockouts have put him in the top of his division and he's proven he's one of the best.

Calvin Kattar and Giga Chikadze are set to headline on January 15, 2022.
