Daniel Cormier had a simple yet straightforward response to Sean O'Malley's recent dig at his commentary work at UFC 269.
Shortly after his illustrious UFC career, Daniel Cormier embarked on a commentary job for the famed MMA promotion. Given his experience and knowledge, “DC” was doing quite good in his new job. However, probably not for UFC bantamweight Sean O'Malley.
It can be recalled that late in the first round of his bantamweight bout against Raulian Paiva at UFC 269, O'Malley decided to take a glance at the clock. While it is yet to be known why “Sugar” did that at the time, Cormier assumed that O'Malley was checking how much time he got left as he's already exhausted.
Addressing the matter post-fight, O'Malley, who managed to rock and finish his opponent that very same round, bared that he wasn't tiring and it was just normal for him to try and see how much time he got left.
“I was looking at the clock to see how much time I had left, cuz some people, Daniel Cormier was like, ‘Oh my god! He’s looking at the clock!’ Of course, I was looking at the clock. What are you talking about dude, If I don’t look at the clock, how am I gonna know how much time do I have?” O’Malley said via BJPenn.com
It didn't take long for Cormier to make a response. For the former UFC champ-champ, it wouldn't be an issue if O'Malley could've just told him about it earlier.
“Sean O’Malley great win tonight, you and I spoke this week you could have told me that! It was simple I wouldn’t have done anything but took your criticism. You looked great tonight!” Cormier tweeted.
This wasn't the first time Cormier was criticized over his commentary. During his coverage of the Islam Makhachev vs. Dan Hooker fight at the UFC 267, Justin Gaethje labelled his work as “incredibly biased.”
