Per David McMenamin of ESPN, Los Angeles Lakers forward Michael Beasley tried to check into the game but had his practice shorts on. He realized his folly and ran back to the locker room and changed back into his game shorts.

This past offseason, the Lakers were able to acquire LeBron James on a long-term deal. This did handicap their cap space a bit, and they weren't able to add another star to their roster. However, they did add some depth to their bench, including Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, and Michael Beasley.

Although he wasn't a vital part of head coach Luke Walton's rotation at first, with James out, Walton has needed all hands on deck. The team has struggled to find consistency without their stars and have looked elsewhere for veteran leadership.

So far this season Beasley has only averaged 9.8 minutes with 7.2 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game while shooting 53.8 percent from the field and 25 percent from beyond the arc. In January, he's scored in double digits already four times and is also getting four more minutes every night.

He's played very well offensively in limited minutes. If it wasn't for Kuzma getting the majority of the minutes at power forward, Beasley would also reap the benefits of getting more time off the bench.

The Lakers are now 24-21 on the season and sit 9th overall in the NBA's Western Conference.
