Minnesota Timberwolves guard Zach LaVine has more in common with Michael Jordan than just winning a dunk contest and wearing his shoes.

It appears he has been studying tapes of the greatest to ever play in the NBA to learn some of his tricks.

LaVine pulled off a move uncommonly seen in the NBA since Jordan.

He stood in position above the 3-point line waiting for teammate Adreian Payne to shoot his final free throw.

As Payne let the ball roll off his fingers, LaVine read that the shot would be a miss, and swooped into the lane.

In one motion he took off and grabbed the rebound before any other player including his own teammates could react and threw down a two-handed putback slam.

It was reminiscent of Jordan slamming down his teammate Scottie Pippen‘s missed free throws.

Watch below to see both LaVine and Jordan's similar instincts.
