The Minnesota Vikings have a lineage of steller pass catchers. From Cris Carter to Randy Moss to Kyle Rudolph to Stefon Diggs to Adam Thielen, there's almost always a Pro Bowl-level pass catcher — if not two — in Minneapolis. They already have their next long-term star.

Justin Jefferson now carries the torch as the next star wide receiver in Minnesota. In just his second year, he set a franchise record by collecting 577 receiving yards in four games, which no one else in franchise history has ever done.

This may be a bit of an arbitrary record but it is nonetheless impressive. Moss has a case as the greatest wide receiver in NFL history due to his unreal peak and Carter, Thielen and Diggs were/are all elite wide receivers with multiple seasons racking up 1,000 receiving yards. All of that talent in Minnesota failed to do what the 22-year-old Jefferson did.

Following the Week 13 games, Jefferson is second in the league in receiving yards — accumulating 1,209 receiving yards in 12 games — and seventh in catches with 78. His seven touchdown receptions are a top-10 mark. After making the Pro Bowl his rookie year, he is a surefire pick to make it again.

Jefferson will get the chance to shine again on Thursday Night Football as the Vikings host the Pittsburgh Steelers. With Thielen sidelined with an ankle sprain, Minnesota is going to need Jefferson to continue his dominance.
