Cornerback Xavier Rhodes recently became a member of the Indianapolis Colts. That was after he was released by the Minnesota Vikings. Following his release, Rhodes is now eyeing a fresh start in Indianapolis.

It is also worth noting that Rhodes appears primed to build off of being released by the Vikings. In other words, he's not using such an instance to sulk. With that in mind, Rhodes recently referred as being cut loose by the Vikings as a “reality check.”

“You have to prove yourself every day,” Rhodes told Stephen Holder of The Athletic upon speaking to reporters for the first time since landing with the Colts.

On the other hand, Rhodes will encounter a few well-known figures upon officially making his way to the Colts. Colts cornerbacks coach Jonathan Gannon and safeties coach Alan Williams both spent time in Minnesota. They were around during Rhodes’ early playing days as a member of the Vikings.

If all goes well this offseason, perhaps this duo can help lead Rhodes back to his glory days. At the moment, those days seem to be quite distant at this very moment.

Rhodes signed just a one-year free agent contract with the Colts. Such a deal will certainly serve as an opportunity for the former Vikings standout to rebound in a big way in 2020.

If Rhodes can make a name for himself in Indianapolis, perhaps he can ultimately land a long-term deal upon hitting the market once again next offseason.
