This is a WandaVision finale post-credits explanation post. It should go without saying, but since we're friends, it'll be said anyway. Heavy and major spoilers follow in the hybrid ‘WandaVision finale explanation and WandaVision credits explained' post.
I love you. Please do not continue reading if you don't want to be spoiled, especially if you've yet to see the finale. If you're simply wondering if there's even a post-credits scene, but want to avoid spoilers, we already have you covered over here.
Let's get this started!
WandaVision Finale Post-Credits Explanation
In typical Marvel fashion, we got ourselves a little WandaVision post-credits scene fun, but with a twist. The WandaVision finale tossed us two different post-credits scenes in which both will have a huge impact (at least I assume) on Phase 4 of the entire universe moving forward.
To keep this night and neat, and without dancing too much in the land of conjecture, we'll break up both scenes seperately.
However, again, we'll try not to theorize. We'll do that in a separate post. For now, we'll try to stick to the facts, as minimal available as they are.
WandaVision Credits Explained: Post-Credits Scene One
Oddly enough, the first post-credits scene has nothing to do with Wanda or Vision or White Vision. Instead, it's all about our (now super-power-filled) hero Monica Rambeau.
We learned this in the most recent Spider-Man, but not all agents walking the streets are humanoids. In this scene, an apparent human tells Monica Rambeau she must go to the theater “where she's wanted,” and all that jazz.
As soon as she's there, the agent reveals herself to be an alien in disguise. Yikes! The agent tells Monica and “old friend” (gesturing to the sky) wants to see her.
While we do NOT want to do theorizing, there's only so much we know here.
Nick Fury is chilling in space. Granted, it's on a SWORD sourced planet, but who knows? Maybe it's him?
We know the actress who plays Monica Rambeau (so probably also the character) is set to appear in Captain Marvel 2. Given her mother's connection to Captain Marvel and the Skrulls, that's a possibility.
However, we also know that Marvel is planning on doing a sourced adaptation of the MCU “Secret Invasion” storyline from the comics.
Nonetheless, these are all theories, and while I promised I'd avoid them, it's hard to “explain” this WandaVision finale post-credits scene without mentioning what this encounter might mean.
WandaVision Credits Explained: Post-Credits Scene Two
If you made it this far, you know by know that Wanda accepted her role as Scarlet Witch. However, you also know by the end of the show (well, before the post-credits) Wanda's creation of Vision and her children vanished after she let Westview go the way of the dinosaurs.
Anywho, without recapping a scene you already saw, things get a bit complex for those who aren't chest deep in MCU lore.
There's a loose chance this scene connects to Dr. Strange.
Wanda (Scarlet Witch now, if we want to be accurate) can hear her “no longer around” kids' screams while she's practicing witchcraft in some far away cabin. In theory, since the children (like Vision) were conjured by her imagination, but through the use of the Mind Stone, there might be more going on with her powers.
This goes back to non-credits show where we learned that Evan Daniel's version of Quicksilver wasn't him at all, but just an actor under magical control, ending any possible X-Men to Avenger-ish connections. However, with the post-credits scene, and the Mind Stone possibly going beyond dimensions, it keeps this door open.
Wanda's connection to the Infinity Stones in general has always been heavily emphasized. Given that, and what Stephen Strange is all about, Scarlet Witch (the possibly and probably evil version of Wanda) can very well end up being the antagonist in Doctor Strange.
Maybe not the main big bad, but one of them, especially if the plot of that movie ends up with Scarlet Witch returning to form as Wanda before the next season of WandaVision.
Ah, poop. I theorized a bunch. But man! These things are hard to explain otherwise.
Nonetheless, hopefully that was a decent WandaVision finale post-credits explanation, even if a lot of it relied heavily on theorizing, guessing and relying on conjecture.
