New York Knicks fans had high hopes all season long that they would land Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving via free agency this summer, with some of them acting as if it was an inevitability.
Well, Knicks fans may now have to temper their expectations.
First, reports surfaced that Irving was favoring the Brooklyn Nets. Then, Durant tore his Achilles in the NBA Finals, making the idea of pursuing him with a max deal a risky prospect.
Now, Warriors wing Andre Iguodala is flat out telling New York that no one is signing with the Knicks:

Of course, Iguodala can't say for sure what is happening. But at the same time, players do tend to have a general idea of where their peers are going to be headed, so we can't just ignore this statement by the three-time champion.
Both Durant and Klay Thompson are free agents for the Warriors, with Thompson widely expected to re-sign in Golden State. Meanwhile, the Dubs are still considered a possibility for Durant, but the hot rumor at the moment is that Durant may end up teaming up with Irving in Brooklyn.
Regardless, it's looking more and more like the Knicks may end up striking out in free agency. This comes after New York also struck out in the NBA Draft Lottery, landing the third overall pick in spite of finishing with the worst record in the league.
The Knicks would go on to draft Duke's RJ Barrett with the No. 3 selection, but their dreams of landing Zion Williamson were dashed.
