Everyone in the league already took notice of the struggles being encountered by Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors early in the season, including Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard. He added that the new faces on the Warriors make it tougher for Curry to regularly get quality looks on the court.

“I think right now, with the injuries that the Warriors have been dealing with and Steph playing with a younger team right now, he’s seeing that it’s tough to get those quality looks right now,” Lillard said on “Warriors Pregame Live.”

The Blazers' five-time All-Star also added that the dynamics of the Warriors squad this season is a unique challenge compared to what Curry used to have in recent years.

“It’s different than what it’s looked like over the last four or five years for him,” he continued. “He’s trying to get quality looks and get a clean look so he can make a good one. You don’t really have that luxury to take one from that deep just to be taking it like in the past he might have, and I’m the same, getting a lot of attention from defenses.”

Dub Nation previously started the season on the wrong foot with a 125-99 blowout loss against the revamped Brooklyn Nets in their season opener. It was followed by another tough 138-99 defeat at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks in their second game of the season.

Their third tilt proved to be much different as the Warriors managed to get past the Chicago Bulls by way of a last-gasp three-point shot by Damion Lee en route to a 129-128 victory. After getting significant contributions from his teammates, Curry and the squad managed to cruise past the Detroit Pistons in the ensuing matchup for a 116-106 win.

After two consecutive triumphs, the Warriors stumbled anew as they faced the Trail Blazers. The high scoring duo of Lillard and C.J. McCollum torched the Warriors as they ran away with a 123-98 victory.

The team's slow start to the season certainly isn't what Stephen Curry has in mind for his comeback bid after an injury-riddled campaign in 2019-2020. The two-time NBA MVP will aim to win a game over the Blazers as they face them once again on the second tilt of a back-to-back encounter on Jan. 3.
