Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers says the Clippers are trying to trap Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry whenever he gets the ball off a pick.

Curry is the best shooter in NBA history. You give him any room to shoot and he's going to knock it down at a high rate.

Curry is averaging just 19.0 points over the last three games. For a regular player, those would be good numbers. But for a star guard like Curry, those are rather pedestrian numbers.

“We’re trying to trap Steph (Curry) whenever he gets the ball off a pick,” Rivers said, via Michael Thompson of The Athletic. “So we’re just trying our best to keep him in the box as much as we can, because you know when he gets loose, nothing good happens. I thought he dominated the first three games, the first two games, and we just felt like we had to do something. And so it’s been good so far.”

The Clippers won Game 5 at Oracle Arena. Curry scored 24 points, but was only able to get off 15 shots in 38 minutes.

The Clippers were trapping the Warriors' sharpshooter at every run, forcing Curry to get the ball out of his hands so he didn't turn it over.

It will be interesting to see what kind of adjustments Warriors head coach Steve Kerr makes for Game 6 to get Curry going.
