Golden State Warriors veteran power forward Draymond Green revealed the “funniest” storyline of the past year, per an interview by ESPN released on Friday.

Green, a three-time champion with Golden State, made light of now-former Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball, who was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans before he could find a successful track record with future Hall of Famer LeBron James.

ESPN: “What was the funniest development you've seen all season?”

Green: “Recently Lonzo [Ball] came out and said, ‘yeah the Lakers, we could have won championships.'

“That's just something where it's like
yeah you got LeBron James, of course you could have won a championship. But you didn't make the playoffs — you just can't come out and say that. That's something you got to keep to yourself.”

Green, an outspoken athlete and one of the strongest characters in the NBA, jokes that Ball thought he and James would win a championship or championships with the Lakers. However, James excised the third-year point guard to the Pelicans in the massive Anthony Davis deal.

James' agent Rich Paul, who also represents Davis, helped orchestrate The Brow's move to the City of Angels. It just cost Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and multiple first-round draft picks from the Lakers to facilitate a move that, in part, cost Magic Johnson his job.

Now, the Lakers look to be in a prime position to contend for the title, with the Warriors all but out of competitive basketball this season without Kevin Durant, a healthy Klay Thompson, and a sidelined Stephen Curry. Unfortunately for Zo, he's not part of the show.
