Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green says he's happy for superstar small forward Kevin Durant, who signed with the Brooklyn Nets this summer after playing three seasons in Golden State.

Green says Durant is his “brother” and deserved the right to choose where he wanted to play next after winning two championships with the Warriors:

“That's my brother and I'm happy for him,” Green told Rachel Nichols of ESPN. “Not many times in life do you get to do what you want to do. He's worked his ass off and had the opportunity to do exactly what he wanted to do. He deserves to do exactly that.”

There are some people who believe Kevin Durant would still be on the Warriors if Draymond Green didn't bark at him in Los Angeles earlier in the season and call him a “b***h.” Green told Durant the Warriors could without him after KD was upset Green didn't pass him the ball in the final seconds of a game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Kendrick Perkins, a close friend of Durant, believes KD never got over the Green incident.

Durant has moved on from the Warriors, and the Dubs need to do the same. Golden State was able to acquire All-Star point guard D'Angelo Russell from the Nets in the sign-and-trade deal involving Durant, so at least they didn't lose KD for nothing.
