Since Allen Iverson shifted the culture in the NBA, a lot of insanely good outfits have come from players. Most of them tend to surface during the NBA Playoffs. It's the perfect time when the limelight is brightest and a lot of cameras are flashing. When squads are down terribly in a series, just like the Minnesota Timberwolves are to the Dallas Mavericks, that's when the all-black outfits come out. Draymond Green has something to say about other players' fashion choices in these situations. The Golden State Warriors star even pointed to Karl-Anthony Towns.

Draymond Green puts it very simply. He wants to focus on winning basketball and help the Warriors win their series whenever they are on the brink of getting eliminated in the NBA Playoffs. Fashion takes a backseat in his head such that he is locked in for the most important part of the night, the basketball. He unveiled what type of outfits he'd wear and the reasoning behind it, via The Volume.

“Say we’re down in the series. I'm wearing all black, probably some black Forces and that's that. Why? Because number one I don't need to waste any time thinking about an outfit, we got a game to play. Number two, I couldn't care less how I walk into this arena looking. I need to win some games so we don't get eliminated. Number three, I'm in an all-black sweatsuit, not the best looking black sweatsuit, some black Forces, some black glasses, I'm going to war like this ain't about how I look in the tunnel, I'm going to war. I don't have time for any of that,” Draymond Green said.

Warriors star's advice for Timberwolves forward backfires

The reasoning behind it is quite sound when someone is coming from a winning culture like the Warriors. But, some players just do not ascribe to the same philosophy prior to an NBA Playoffs elimination game. Karl-Anthony Towns, for one, still looked dapper and well-dressed. This was a stark contrast to the Warriors forward's all-black outfit. While some would just let it slide, Green had to call out the Timberwolves forward.

“I think number one, KAT should probably take a page out of that book. Like, Kat be fresh walking in gotta give it to him, he’s been putting his fit together for the last few years, I got to give it to him, but sometimes it just ain’t time to think about that,” he concluded.

Understandably, athletes want to feel good before entering the game. Getting validation through their outfits usually helps calm the nerves down for them to have a good shooting night. This was the case for Karl-Anthony Towns in Game 5 against the Mavericks.

To keep their season alive, he knocked down nine out of his 13 shots from all three levels of scoring and only missed one three-pointer. All of that netted him 25 points. This paired well with his five rebounds to help extend the NBA Playoffs series to a decisive Game 6. Will they get the same outcome from Towns? Or, are the Mavericks finally going to close this series out?
