There have been some fans who would like to see Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors and LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers join forces before their careers are over, but Green said that is unlikely when appearing on John Wall's podcast called “Point Game”.

“As I've said before, unless Bron coming to Golden State I don't really see that happening,” Draymond Green said, according to Taylor Wirth of NBC Sports Bay Area. “For me personally, if the Warriors will have me until I'm done and my shoestring is in a knot and toss them things about the telephone wire, that's where I'll be. … There's nothing else, looking around the NBA, that excites me than doing all that I can to try and win another championship with the team that I won four championships with, with the guys that I've won four championships with. Steph [Curry] and Klay [Thompson], I never look around the league and be like ‘hmm think I'll be great [over there].' Like f*** that, I can be great right here, I can do what I need to do to win another championship and that's my focus.”

Green made it clear that he is not going to leave the Warriors, as long as he is wanted in Golden State, so it would require LeBron James joining his team for them to team up, and that seems unlikely. Green did say he thought he might have been able to play with James this summer, but that is not going to happen, as the Team USA rosters have been revealed.

“As much as I would love the opportunity to play with Bron one day, I thought I would have an opportunity this summer with Team USA,” Green said, according to Wirth. “That didn't happen for me, and so I think that probably puts a wrap, a bow on the possibilities of that, because as long as this franchise will have me, it's where I'll be.”

There were some rumors about the Warriors trying to trade for James from the Lakers ahead of this season's NBA Trade Deadline, but the efforts were unsuccessful.

Draymond Green is committed to the Warriors

Green made it clear that he is committed to the Warriors and trying to add another championship before his career is done. It is unclear how achievable that goal is, as the Warriors have some cap issues.

Stephen Curry is still on the roster, so a few key additions around him and the established Warriors core of players could make them contenders again. Still, there are a lot of good teams in the Western Conference, so it will take a big step up to contend for another title during Green's career.
