Now that NBA season is over and with the Golden State Warriors finishing their mission of repeating as NBA champions, it’s time for Warriors forward Kevin Durant to manage some of his other endeavors off the court. That includes introducing newest signature Nike sneakers, the KD 11 on his own YouTube channel.

Along with Jeremy Jones of Never Fold, Durant goes over the details, the technology used,  and the thought process behind the shoes’ production

Also, according to the channel, Durant first wore the shoe in public during the Warriors’ championship parade downtown Oakland.

Here’s more about the KD 11 from Nike’s website.

Initiating the design of Kevin Durant’s latest signature shoe, the KD11, began with an idea and a question.

The idea follows on Durant’s preference for comfort: He wants a broken-in feel. He has said that he doesn’t tie his laces too tight, so his coziness quotient lies somewhere between a sock and a lightweight runner. With this in mind (and specifically with the challenge of translating it through the more traditionally substantial basketball shoe), designer Leo Chang wondered what new technologies would match the feel KD was after?

Chang has also designed some of Durant’s previous shoes with Nike, so his familiarity with the player definitely helped him craft the newest pair of the KD line.
