The Golden State Warriors are signing five-year veteran wing Glenn Robinson III to a two-year contract, per Shams Charania of The Athletic. The second year also has a team option.

Robinson III is a depth addition for Golden State, who lost Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies due to the 10-year vet's salary interfering with signing-and-trading a max contract for guard D'Angelo Russell. The Brooklyn Nets completed the deal to send Russell out of the Eastern Conference after signing star point guard Kyrie Irving in free agency.

The Warriors had to send Iguodala and a future first-round pick to Memphis to accommodate the incoming salary from Russell's deal.

The Bay Area franchise also lost forward Kevin Durant to the Nets and center Jordan Bell to the Minnesota Timberwolves. They re-signed big man Kevon Looney to a three-year contract yesterday.

Robinson played two seasons at the University of Michigan like soon-to-be teammate and 2019 Warriors first-round Jordan Poole. The 6-foot-6 Robinson, son of 1994's first-overall selection Glenn Robinson, played with Tim Hardaway Jr. and Trey Burke on the Wolverines' Final Four team in 2013, which lost to Louisville in the national title game.

Robinson last played for the Detroit Pistons during the 2018-19 season. Prior to that, he bounced around a few teams. He was drafted with the 10th pick in the second round (40th overall) of the 2014 NBA Draft, selected by the Timberwolves.

Minnesota would waive Robinson during his rookie year and he'd be picked up by the Philadelphia 76ers. Robinson the next year signed a free-agent contract with the Indiana Pacers, where he spent three seasons and 137 games.

In his 219-game career, Robinson has averaged 4.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest, shooting 43.9% from the field, 36.1% from three, and 72.6% from the free throw line.
