The Golden State Warriors have finalized a multi-year deal with sharpshooter Mychal Mulder, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic. It's a non-guaranteed minimum contract.

The team had signed the former Kentucky Wildcat to a 10-day contract earlier in the season. He made the most of his six games with the team, averaging 12.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 29.5 minutes per game.

The Canadian wasn't shy about doing what he does best, teeing up 7.5 3-point attempts per game and connecting on 35.6% from deep — a skill the Warriors will need in the future.

Golden State liked the 25-year-old Mulder enough to keep him under team control for the long run, anticipating his services could be needed next season when the bench requires some outside shooting help.

Head coach Steve Kerr anticipated the team would sign Mulder to a second 10-day contract, but talks escalated quickly and the front office decided to give him a long-term shot due to his perimeter prowess:

“We are working towards bringing him back, and we’re confident that’s going to happen,” said Kerr on Sunday, according to Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle. “We don’t practice tomorrow, but we anticipate having him Tuesday (against the Los Angeles Clippers at Chase Center). We’ll see what that means.”

The Warriors are now $310,000 below the luxury tax after letting the ink dry on this deal, according to ESPN Insider Bobby Marks. Chasson Randle's 10-day deal is set to expire on Thursday and Dragan Bender's second 10-day contract will on Saturday. Signing another player to a full-fledged contract would put Golden State tightly below the hard cap.
