The Golden State Warriors visited the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center on Tuesday night and found themselves in a dogfight.

The Warriors, playing without Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, were trying to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, as the Spurs erected a comfortable lead. With a little less than seven minutes to go in the game, Gary Payton II made a steal and saved the ball before going out of bounds. Jordan Poole secured it and lasered an outlet pass to the streaking Jonathan Kuminga for the windmill slam.

The end-to-end highlight was a thing of beauty. But it could also be costly. After the play, Payton was seen limping on the floor (via The Athletic's Anthony Slater).

Payton has been an integral part of the Warriors this season, providing energy, hustle, and quickness on both ends. Losing him would hurt the team's rotation. As of writing, it's still unclear if Payton suffered anything serious. Fans of the Warriors sure hope it's just a minor scare.

The Warriors did complete a huge comeback, taking the win, 124-120 to improve to 39-13. Poole and company outscored the Spurs in the final frame, 35-16. But it was also the defense of Payton, who tallied five steals, that ignited the Warriors' fightback.

The Warriors will have a short rest before taking on the Sacramento Kings on Thursday.
