Ja Morant had another strong performance on Monday night in an overtime loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. The Memphis Grizzlies star dropped 37 points in what turned out to be a tightly-contested overtime loss to a Joel Embiid-less Sixers side.

Morant's 37-point effort should have been the highlight of the evening, but as it turns out, Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry just had to do him better.

Curry led the Dubs to a 122-108 victory in Houston against the Rockets behind a dazzling 40-point display. As soon as Morant caught wind of Steph's epic performance, the Grizzlies stud just had to take notice:

Ja Morant had a good game but Curry had an even better one. More importantly, Steph's Warriors won as they extended their winning streak to six games.

Curry went 13-of-23 from the field against Houston while also shooting 7-of-14 from distance. The greatest shooter of all time has been on an extended slump, and we're all hoping that this marks the end of his shooting woes.

Curry and Morant have been in the MVP conversation throughout the season. After a strong start to the season for Steph, he's now fallen down the pecking order and is currently behind Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo in the MVP race, per FanDuel. Morant, who was named as an All-Star for the first time in his career, is himself making his way up the MVP ladder with his strong play of late. The Grizzlies star currently ranks as a distant fifth behind Curry.
