On March 31, the rap world lost one of its best. Ermias Joseph Asghedom, better known as Nipsey Hussle, was shot and killed outside his clothing store in Los Angeles. In the weeks since, many NBA players have shown their respect for the late rapper with jerseys, shoes, pre-game tributes and more.

The most recent player to do so is Golden State Warriors center Jordan Bell. The youngster is wearing custom shoes for Game 3 against the Los Angeles Clippers to honor Hussle.

Bell and Hussle were both born and raised in Los Angeles, so the loss hit Bell harder than most. During his music career, Hussle released nine mixtapes and one studio album.

The Chicago Bulls picked Bell in the second round of the 2017 draft and immediately traded him to Golden State. Bell has been used primarily as a bench player during his two seasons with the Warriors. Last season, he averaged 3.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in just 11.6 minutes per game.

Earlier Thursday, Houston Rockets star James Harden dedicated his postseason journey to Hussle. The two were “close friends,” making the loss especially significant for Harden. On April 1, the day after the shooting, Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard also wore custom Hussle shoes.

Bell and the Warriors will take on the Clippers in Game 3 at 10:30 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday night. The series is currently tied at one game apiece after an unexpected Clippers comeback in Game 2. The Warriors can't afford to fall behind 2-1 on the road, making Game 3 an important one for Bell and his teammates.
