The Golden State Warriors took Game 1 against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday in thrilling fashion, winning 117-116 despite Draymond Green getting ejected in the first half. Once again, youngster Jordan Poole proved to be a huge factor in the outcome as he continues to show out in these playoffs. The guard went off for a team-high 31 points off the bench while going 5 for 10 from downtown.

But early on in his rookie season in 2019/20, there were lots of doubters. Many believed he wasn't the right fit for the Warriors because of his poor shot selection, sub-par passing, and lack of handles. Poole never took any of that to heart though.

Instead, the former Michigan standout put his head down, worked hard, and let the results do the talking.

Via Kendra Andrews of ESPN:

“I've always made people eat their words,” Poole said. “I never went to the media and said anything about anybody else. I just shut up, take it all in and let my game do the talking. It feels a lot better. Oh, my god, it feels so good.”

To put his nuclear rise into perspective, the Warriors stud averaged just 8.8 points in Year One. 2021-22? He put up 18.5 points per night and in the postseason thus far, Poole is averaging nearly 23 points while shooting a ridiculous 48% from deep. His playmaking has improved drastically this season as well, most notably in the playoffs, dishing out six dimes per contest.

The Warriors could very well have themselves a third Splash Brother alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. His name is Jordan Poole. Fitting, to say the least.
