Jordan Poole elevated his game for the Golden State Warriors this season. So much so, that more than a few folks believe that the 22-year-old should be in contention for this season's Most Improved Player award.

Now that the Warriors are set to kick off what they expect to be a long and arduous playoff run, Poole spoke out about the role he hopes to play for his team:

“As long as I’m out there being able to make an impact, help our team win and lead us as far as we can go, I’m excited for it,” he said, via Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle. “Whatever opportunity presents itself, I’m going to be ready to step up.”

In the regular season, Poole averaged a career-high 30.0 minutes per game. He put up 18.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists, while also connecting on 2.8 triples per game. Needless to say, Poole was a key cog for the Warriors and they will need more of the same for him come the postseason.

It is clear, however, that ego is not an issue for this young man. He understands that he's playing alongside a handful of future Hall of Famers and being the team player that he is, he's more than willing to take any role that may be given to him.
