The Golden State Warriors are officially eliminated from the 2020-21 NBA playoffs. Stephen Curry did all he could to lift the team, scoring 39 huge points to keep their hopes alive.

The Warriors star has been an offensive supernova all season, capable of exploding for 40 points on a whim. But could he have been hampered by a worse-than-it-seemed tailbone injury despite the epic scoring burst?

A couple of months back, the Warriors star had a scary fall that looked to seriously injure his tailbone.

Curry was forced to miss five games after that, but then proceeded to dominate the rest of the league immediately after returning. The Warriors had initially been calling it a “contusion”, which has commonly been used to label injuries without necessarily specifying any clear diagnosis.

However, during the postgame presser following Golden State's elimination at the hands of the Memphis Grizzlies, Kent Bazemore might have revealed it to be worse than initially feared. The veteran called Curry's injury a “hairline fracture” that had been plaguing the Warriors icon for the second half of the season. Stephen Curry had been wearing a cushion on his bottom to soften and blows, but to be playing with a fracture of that extent is a testament to Steph's amazing season.

If anything, this just points to an epic season incoming for the Golden State Warriors next year. With Klay Thompson set to be back, and Stephen Curry given another offseason to get healthy without any playoff mileage weighing him down, the Dubs could make some serious noise once again.
