There has been a recent Stephen Curry vs. Kevin Durant debate brewing in the NBA world. With Steph on the precipice of his fourth NBA championship, people are wondering if Curry is better than KD. Many have stated that a Finals MVP would place Curry ahead of Durant. However, Warriors star Draymond Green doesn't agree with that sentiment.

Green shared his thoughts on the matter on his podcast.

“They need those shiny objects for them to be able to analyze what’s going on… Steph Curry got double teamed 7X the amount KD did…the impact he has on a game, if you don’t understand basketball, you’re going to say he needs a FMVP (Finals MVP) to validate who he is.”

Kevin Durant was asked about Green's comments and responded to them in blunt fashion:

Draymond Green seems to be intimating that Curry had more of an impact on the Warriors when Durant was on the team and that Curry getting double-teamed played a big factor in opening things up for KD, which helped him win two Finals MVPs over Steph. Green is also saying that Curry doesn't need a Finals MVP to validate his credentials.

KD obviously doesn't agree.

It is an odd response from Durant since he says Green's take is “100% false.” So is Durant implying Curry does indeed need a Finals MVP? Is he saying Curry did not get double-teamed more than him?

Durant has been no stranger to expressing his opinions on social media as of late. But one has to wonder if this could create division between the Warriors and Kevin Durant. There seems to be a rivalry growing between Durant and Curry purely based on this on-going debate.

Warriors vs. Nets games next year will be must-watch TV.
