Golden State Warriors center Kevon Looney believes that D'Angelo Russell would bring a lot to the table next season. The 23-year-old center also admitted that he felt a sigh of relief when he finally struck a deal with the Warriors.

In an interview with NBC Sports Bay Area, Looney said that he is excited to play with Russell. The Warriors acquired Russell in a sign-and-trade deal that sent Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets. Looney is convinced that D'Lo will turn heads next season.

“I think it's gonna be fun, you know, I'll be doing a lot of pick-and-rolls,” Looney said. ” He's in my high school class and my draft class, so I've been watching him closely for my whole career. It's gonna be a lot of fun.”

The former UCLA standout added that he is excited to return to Golden State next season. He revealed that there were moments that he felt he would be wearing a different jersey next year, especially when the news about the sign-and-trade deal with the Nets broke out.

Looney eventually agreed to a three-year deal worth $15 million, extending his stay in the Bay Area which has been his home in the first four years of his NBA career. The 6-foot-9 center played 80 games, including 24 starts, where he averaged 6.3 points on top of 5.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
