Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson officially earned his fourth straight trip to the 2018 NBA All-Star Game. As a result, it seems he will be quite busy throughout the weekend festivities.

Despite playing a supporting role in the Warriors' star-studded cast, Thompson has maintained his status as one of the deadliest 3-point shooters in the league. Which is why it comes as no surprise to hear that he fully plans on participating in this year's 3-point shooting contest, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic:

This will be Thompson's third consecutive year taking part in the ultimate shootout. He took home the 3-point crown back in 2016 when he managed to defeat fellow “Splash Brother” Stephen Curry and a rookie Devin Booker. However, Thompson failed to defend his throne after he was unable to make it past the first round of last year's competition. Needless to say, he will be looking for redemption this time around.

Unfortunately, that spells bad news for the rest of the competitors. the Warriors sniper is averaging 20.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game this season. Even more impressive is how hot he has been from deep throughout the 2017-18 NBA campaign thus far, shooting career-high percentages from the field (48.6) and the 3-point line (45.3). That said, he has managed to make the most of his opportunities in the high-powered Warriors offense.

Thompson will have his hands full with a bevy of other sharpshooters like budding star Devin Booker and reigning 3-point champ Eric Gordon. However, he has already shown the killer instinct it takes to win the prestigious shootout, so he should still be considered a favorite to bag the trophy.
